Race Running

Kade & I participated in Pat's Run, a couple of weeks ago. We met up w/ some friends, and had a fun time in all of the chaos and excitement.
Kade & Karli

Yes, my son is stretching before his big run. (.42 miles)
Doesn't he have great form?

He loved having his shirt signed by all of the Sundevil "football guys."

After I crossed the finish line. (Kade had been napping for my entire race, 4.2 miles.)

Kade and his buddy, Nate, loved Clifford the Big Red Dog!

Katie, Karli, & all of the kids.

I couldn't believe how many people show up for this race in Tempe... over 28,000!
It was a really neat event, and I'm so glad that Kade & I had a chance to be a part of it. He loved finishing the race by ending up on the Sundevil football field!
(We were sad that Rob had to stay home and paint mailboxes w/ the scouts, to help them earn money for high adventure camp. :()

A Visit With Friends

My fabulous friend Lisa (from California) along with her husband and 2 kids, came to town for a visit. Her Grandma Mimi moved down here a couple of months ago, so the whole family flew in to spend time with her, and a little time with us.

We spent a little time at the Tucson International Wildlife Museum. (And it seems to be the only place where I took any picture. Sad. :( )
Audrey striking a pose under the giraffe.
Kade's favorite were the black bears.
Crazy man
Lioness Audrey
Kade says, "Roar!"
Reid the friendly lion
The kids made wishes in the fountain...
Audrey : "I wish to be a Doctor."
Kade : "I wish to be a football guy."
Reid : "I wish to be a NBA basketball player."
Do we see a pattern here?
I love their BIG wishes!

Thanks for visiting Manley family. We had fun! Come back soon!
And next time we promise to get a picture of Ben and Rob in here somewhere... :)

Before the Big Race

Kade's 1st Race

Our community hosted a Duathlon, this morning. The kids' race began at 8am and the adults followed 45 minutes later. Kade thought it was "awesome"!!!!

See him on the left stretching before the 100 yard dash?
Then he's ready to jump on his bike, for the .5 mile ride.
Got helmet?
Home stretch of the bike leg (w/ Dad running beside).
And they finish the race w/ a final 100 yard dash.
The final stretch! Finishing strong...
He had a blast and received a medal and a ring pop at the finish.
Great job little Munch!
