Weekend Getaways!

We have had some fun weekend getaways in the past couple of weeks. Rob & I escaped to San Diego for an overnight, by ourselves! We drove down to Yuma, to leave Kade with my Mom, and left early Saturday morning. I was a little nervous about leaving him, as this was my 1st time. My Mom & Kade had a great time, and so did we.
Here we are, waiting for the "Shamu" show to start. (This is the only picture I took, while we were down in San Diego.) We went to Sea world, the beach, out to dinner, and Old Town. The weather was amazing, and it was nice to have some time to ourselves.

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to stay at a resort here in town, with Rob's company. We stayed at the Arizona Grand, which is very family oriented. They have their own water park, with giant slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. We had such a great time. I even had a chance to go to their spa, on Saturday, and have a facial. I could get addicted to that. :)

Kade & Daddy in the wave pool.
He loved the lazy river. We spent most of our days there. Rob & I did manage to go down the water slides, and I screamed the whole way down. I felt just like a kid again!
Floating away...
The company got together for family dinners. This place was great, western style, with live music. Kade loved the country dancing and balloon guy. And Saturday night, Jen watched Kade so that we could attend the Dave Matthews Band concert, with some friends. Thanks Scott & Mel!

So I've been a little busy, packing & unpacking, and traveling on the weekends. That's why it's been awhile since our last update. We're having a fun and busy summer!

More Birthday Fun!

My Mom came in town for the weekend of the 9th, because we were hosting a little birthday party for Kade. Here he is checking out his gift from Memaw.

Of course he had to taste the money that Great-Grandpa sent...

We took him to the Dr., for his 1 year appointment, only to learn he is in the 5th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height. What else is new? 19.3 lbs & 31 in
He liked playing with the stethoscope.
On Saturday, we held a party at the Tempe water park. It was great to get friends and family together for some food and fun in the sun.
Kade was shy when we gathered around to sing "happy birthday".
And he didn't like his birthday hat.
Everyone loved the ocean scene cupcake cake, with the BLUE frosting!

Yikes!

Should we take the mess away?
Just chillin'...
Opening presents...
We finally put the Memaw's present together. He loves pushing it around the house.

Thanks to everyone for making the day so fun and special. Kade had a blast! (And so did his parents!)

Happy Birthday Munchie!

I can't believe he's 1! It seems like we just had him, and all he wanted was for us to hold him, all of the time. Now he's crawling everywhere, chasing us and the animals, all over the house. He's such a happy, sweet, & goofy little boy. I wish we could keep him like this, but it is exciting to watch him grow and experience new things every day. We feel so lucky to have such a good little baby! This morning he woke up and had an e-card from Grandpa & Grandma Eagar. He danced and laughed at the musical bear. Then, I took Kade to the Learning Store to pick out a toy & we brought it home to wrap it. Rob & I bought him a wagon, so I made him a wagon birthday cake. ( It kind of looked like a dinosaur or a giraffe.) I need a little help in the cake making department.

But Kade thought it was yummy...

And when he was finished, it was straight to the tub.
We decided, as a tradition, that each year on his birthday we would make a garden stepping stone. I was going to try to put his hand print in the middle, but I didn't think it would turn out. The stars and stones glow in the dark.

And then we took him on a walk in his new wagon. Daddy put it together for him last night, and didn't get too frustrated with the directions.
He liked having his frog go with him.

I think he had a pretty good birthday!
We love you Munch!

Welcome Baby Shelby!

Our new little niece is here! Weighing in at 6lb. 3oz., Shelby Jaye Eagar, was born this morning. Congratulations Eric, Kim, & Colton! She's adorable!

And soooooo little...
Here she is with her favorite aunt!
Kade wanted a closer look!

Brady Springs Camping

We loaded up & headed out! Out of the heat & into the mountains, on a weekend campout for a family reunion. We ate yummy food: tinfoil dinners, dutch oven biscuits & gravy, pancakes & bacon, dutch oven cherry-pineapple cobbler, chicken salad sandwiches, homemade cookies, fruit salad, cowboy caviar, & lots more! We played lots of games, rode on the mule, went shooting, rode zip lines, and got really dirty!
Kade's checking out the campfire.
He loved playing w/ his cousin, Garth. He would pull himself up into standing position, just to get a closer view.
And Garth would giggle at Kade.
Kade loved helping Daddy drive the mule.
Kade & Garth playing in the grass.
And then Rob's sister, Jen, took off in the mule w/ her boyfriend & our camera. So we had a few surprise pictures...

Jen & Russ enjoying the ride!
Kade liked eating the rocks & then drooling the dirt onto all of his clothes...
So we went down to the creek to rinse off. The wildflowers were so pretty...
We had just brushed our teeth, down at the creek. :)
Someone built a zip line for the kids. Here's Jasper going on a wild ride.
He loved it!
Someone's getting sleepy...
Rob loved taking the boys for rides on the mule. Jasper repeatedly told us that, "We went super speedy!" with a big toothy grin.
When we were packing up, Kade discovered the Pirate's Booty...
and he went to town...
And then Jasper discovered it too.
And helped Kade finish it off.
We had a great time, but were happy to get home to our beds and showers.
