All Aboard!

In early December, we headed up to Williams, AZ to take a ride on the Polar Express. Kade was so excited to ride on a choo-choo, he talked about it non-stop. Here are some of our favorite pics from the weekend...

This is Rob's favorite picture of Kade! I think he was yelling, "All aboard!"

We went to a steak house for dinner, before riding the train. Do you think Kade was excited?

We tried to take some family pictures in the snow. We even did a little sledding, just outside our hotel room.

Kade did not like sledding.
My Mom caught me in action, making a snow angel.

Kade's listening to his bell from Santa.
Telling Santa, very quietly, that he "wants toys".
Santa was so cute, taking time to talk to each child. He even flirted a little w/ Rob's Mom. We caught her blushing...
I love this picture of Kade, looking out the window.

We had so much fun! And the snow made it so festive. Thanks to everyone for coming along w/ us! Hope to see you all again next year!
(Our friends Kam & Jerod, with their kids and Kam's parents, were on the train w/ us. But for some reason I have no pictures of them. I'll have to get some and add them in.)

Santa Drives a Big Red Tractor!

Our ward party was last night, and they go all out! (The beauty of living in AZ is that you can have a Christmas party on December 19th, OUTSIDE!!! It was gorgeous! After the sun went down, a light jacket was needed.)

Santa Claus showed up driving a big red tractor into. It was a hit. While I waited in line for Kade to see Santa, Rob took Kade over to sit on the tractor. He now thinks that Santa is coming on Christmas, riding a tractor. :)

His new thing, when he's nervous or shy, is to put his hands into his mouth.
Santa was so cute, and the beard was real!!!

The other big hits of the party:

-Delicious roast and mashed potatoes
-Dutch oven cobbler, peach or pineapple (Rob's fave)
-Live nativity, w/ a sheep (Kade loved the sheep)
-Making a snowman glitter ornament

SANTA!!!

Kade wrote his 1st letter to Santa. When we asked him what he would like Santa to bring him, his response was, "football guys, motorcycle, fire truck, and race cars." We added a few other items, and he placed his letter in the "North Pole" mailbox. (I'll add the photos later.)

Then yesterday, we were at the mall and I pushed Kade up to a little fence and told him to peek through and see who was there. He stood up in his stroller and yelled, "Santa!!!" Santa waived to Kade, and as Kade waived back he stood up and yelled, "I want toys!!!!" I started laughing, and the girl working the camera started laughing and came over to tell Kade that "he deserved a high-five for that."

Santa wasn't visiting with anyone, so we went in and talked with him for awhile. Kade told him everything he wrote in his letter. They gave each other a high-five, thumbs up and knuckles. Kade talked about meeting Santa all night. I wish I would have had it on video.

I had a couple of random pictures from Thanksgiving, that I wanted to add.

"Football Helmet"

If you asked Kade what he was for Halloween, his response would have been , "football helmet." Gary sent Kade a football helmet to complete his costume. He was so excited about it that he has been sleeping with it, next to him, in his crib.

(He now says he was a "football guy" instead of a "football helmet.")

Here are some pics from our busy Halloween. They are completely out of order, but I don't feel like taking the time to rearrange.

Kade loved this game - the goal was to throw a football through a tire. He would play until someone else got in line, and then get in line behind them, to play again.
Check out his form!

He was dang cute!
My neighborhood had a Halloween festival in the late morning. There was a cupcake decorating table, with all of the cutest stuff.

A balloon man made him a doggie.

There was a table for painting pumpkins.
The local 4-H club brought a bunch of baby animals for the kids to pet and feed. Kade fed the "baby cow."
It was slimy.
He loved the baby goat.

He had to ride on Dad's shoulders by the end of the night.
Happy Halloween!

the Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard

We headed off to Wilcox, on Saturday, to go to the pumpkin patch.  Can you believe Rob has never been to a "pick-your-own" pumpkin patch?  I'm not sure who had more fun Kade or Kade's Daddy...

We also went to Apple Annie's apple orchard, to pick some Granny Smiths.

Can you tell that it was a windy day?
Check out the zucchini that Rob picked.  We grilled some that night.  I think we'll have to grill it every night for a month, to eat the whole thing!
Kade helped us pick some green beans.
He loved riding in the wagon.

He was so proud of it.  He wanted to carry it everywhere.

Kade loved the tractor hay ride.
We had a great day!
