No More Combover!

Kade had his 1st haircut on Saturday. My Mom was in town, so we scheduled him an appointment at this adorable children's salon. And we took a bunch of pictures!
Here's a before shot...

This is the cute salon that we took him to.
I messed it up, so we could get the full effect of how long it was.
(The comb-forward...)

He was getting a little rat tail in the back. It was hot!

At the salon, the kids get to pick their own seat. Kade chose the airplane. He loved spinning the wheel.
There were some little girls in the back room having manicures and pedicures. It was so cute!
Kade was mesmerized by the clippers. We thought he might actually fall asleep.

Isn't he handsome?
Almost done...
He thought he looked good, so he wanted to try on some new shades.

He was not happy when it was time to leave, he was having fun in the salon's little play area.

He was a little mad about it!
He got over it pretty quickly. And he looked so handsome at lunch. (We didn't get too many "after" shots.) But we think he's pretty cute! Glad my Mom came up, to get some pictures of the 1st haircut. Of course, we saved some hair for the scrapbooks!

I won...

2nd place! :0
I entered an essay contest, trying to win my dream closet from this store...
Does anyone else love this store as much as I do? I can spend hours in there, walking up and down the aisles, looking at everything that could possibly de-clutter my house.
So I entered the contest they were having, for their grand opening, not really expecting to win anything. I don't even think it would be possible to make my dream closet in our current house, because it was built in the 50's, and the closets are what they are. But someone from their store headquarters called on Christmas Eve, to tell me I had won 2nd place, and would be receiving a $100 gift card. Yahoo!!! She thought my essay was "very clever" and enjoyed my pictures of the closet. ( The closet looks like a disaster, by the way.) My gift card arrived today, and I'm so excited to go see what goodies I can buy with it.

We're Back!

Our Internet hasn't been working for almost a month now, so I've felt like we've been out of the loop. It has only been working in 5 minute increments, which is not really long enough to post anything. But we're back! I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures from the many things that we've been up to in the last month.
I think I uploaded my pictures in reverse order. Oops!

We took the youth bowling for mutual, and Kade loved it.

We would count to 3, and he would push the bowling ball down the chute, and then duck his head under to watch where it went.

Kade loves to play with hats, because Rob is always teasing him with his hats. Kade has his own Diamondbacks hat, but it's still a little too big. It doesn't stop him from wanting to wear it.
He's a cutie!

We hiked Squaw Peak with a bunch of Rob's siblings, and their kids. It was quite a hike, but such a beautiful view!
Kade loves the backpack. (Thanks Lisa!) He even fell asleep on the hike down.
Resting at the top of Squaw Peak...
Kade & Rob were having a snack.

On New Year's Eve day, the Phoenix Zoo brought in snow. You would think Arizonians have never seen snow, because the Zoo was packed! Kade was not a big fan. (Good thing we don't live in Utah anymore.) We ended up spending the day walking around the zoo looking at animals, because he was over the whole snow thing in about 2 minutes.

You can't tell in the picture, but he was actually whining. He wanted off the snow pile.

Our friends from Utah, Marcus & Amy, came over for a game night. Kade had a chance to play with his little friend Lola. They loved hanging out in the wagon together. (Come back soon, guys!)

Lola & Kade are only 2 weeks apart...

One of the buildings that Rob has been working at, had an afternoon Christmas party. One of the residents dressed up as Santa. Kade was having a good time talking to Santa.
These next few pictures are kind of dark...but at another work party there was a dance floor and a DJ. Need I say more?
Yes, he was out there all by himself...gettin' down! He was the hit of the party. He even won a gift card for me , for groceries!

I love this one! He is so in to it! I'm pretty sure he had danced with every female buy the end of the night. Rob & I hardly saw him all night, he was pretty busy...
So that's a little bit of what we have been up to lately. We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas, and brought in the New Year safely. Happy 2009!
