"You've Got Mail"

Kade received his 1st postcard today, from Hawaii. It was from his Memaw and G'Pa, of course. It came this morning, while he was having breakfast. He thought it was pretty neat to get mail...

Busy Weekend

We headed up to Eagar, Arizona this weekend for a wedding. It's about 4 hours away, but it seemed like a different world. It was windy, cold, and very green. There was even a little snow on the ground. Rob's cousin, Amber was getting married. The ceremony was outside. (Brrrrrrr!) And then we moved inside for dinner, entertainment, and dancing. We had a lot of fun. Sunday morning we packed back up, and headed home, carpooling with Eric & Kim. Once we were home, it was nap time, for all 3 of us.
On Monday, we ran a bunch of errands in the morning, washed my car, & then took Kade to a splash park that is only a mile from our house. Tons of kids running around having fun. But Kade did not like getting splashed, at the "splash" park. Every time someone would splash water on him he would start to cry, and if we picked him up, he held on to us with his "death" grip.

Kade & Mommy rubbing faces. He was getting so sleepy.
Enjoying some wedding skits, put on by Rob's cousins.
Kade, trying to smile for the camera, even though he wasn't loving the splash park.
He was whining in this picture, but Rob & I thought it was funny.
He has his death grip on Daddy. See the water splashing to his left?

He liked riding on Daddy's shoulders, leaving the splash park.
We had a fun, busy Memorial Day weekend!

Boe Turns 7!

I wanted to post this yesterday, but I guess I just forgot...
Our dog, Boe turned 7 yesterday. He still acts like a puppy, so full of energy. I got him a present for his birthday, a stuffed lobster. This was his favorite toy in California, and the owner of the local pet store there told me where I could order them online. Boe went thru so many of these that he even knows the word "Lobster". He loves how it squeaks & he can tear the arms off & chew on the rope. Here are a few pictures of him receiving his new lobster.
Happy Birthday Boe!

(Kade likes the noise that the lobster makes, too. He squeaks right back to it.)

Sorry about the crazy eyes...

We're in Trouble!

Kade figured out how to move forward! He has started using his feet to push himself forward, while using his arms to pull. Now when he sees something he wants, he can get there, in a hurry. This is not good for all of the exposed cords that run to our electronics. He loves to play with those. It's more of a scoot than a crawl, but he can hustle! We're in trouble now!

We Were Up At 5am!

That's right! We woke up at 5am, to head out to Apache Lake, to meet up with the Whiting, Hobson, & Eagar families. It was a day filled with sun, food, wake boarding, & family. A lot of them camped a couple of nights, but Rob was flying back from California on Friday night. We spent all day Saturday at the lake. Kade loved riding on the boat, despite the uncomfortable life vest.

I'm A Mom!

-My 1st photo as a Mom-

I am actually someone's Mommy! It's my 1st Mother's Day as a Mom, and I feel so lucky... I've always been in awe of all you Moms out there. You all make it look so easy. I've waited a long time to be a Mommy, and now I feel so privileged. I know my baby was hand-picked just for me. He was exactly what I needed. He makes me laugh and smile every day! It is definitely not the easiest job in the world, but it is the most fun and fulfilling. (And I've held a lot of jobs.) I feel so fortunate to be a Mom this Mother's Day! And I just wanted to thank all the other "Moms" in my life, who have been examples, teachers, and friends to me. I love you all, and am so excited to be a part of your elite group, called "Mothers". Happy Mother's Day!

My 1st Tooth!

Kade is getting his 1st tooth. My Mom and I noticed it yesterday, sitting in the Dr.'s office, waiting for his 9 month check-up. Lucky me, he doesn't seem to be bothered by it. Can you see it coming in on the left side? (His right side...)

At 9 Months...

  • I am getting my 1st tooth.
  • I get up on all fours, but still no crawling.
  • I scrunch my face up when I smile.
  • I can turn the lights on & off.
  • I still take 3 naps a day!
  • I love to dance, to any music, even my mom's singing.
  • I like to have my daddy read me books.
  • I drink juice & it's yummy!

This is my goofy, scrunched up smile.

Rob Turns 36!

Rob's birthday was on Saturday. And even though he's another year older, he's no more mature than a 15 year old! And that's why we love him!
He and his brother, Wade, took all the boys wake boarding Saturday morning. All the girls had a bridal shower to attend.

Jack, Jasper, & Kade
Kade fell asleep while Daddy was in the water.
So they covered his face with Daddy's hat.
And then they used a sweatshirt. Making sure he could breathe was kind of important...
The whole Eagar crew came over that night for some hot dogs, watermelon, and German Chocolate cake, of course! Kade was chattin' it up with Garth, his newest cousin. After dinner, we all went on a scorpion hunt. Jack, Jasper, & Colton loved helping Uncle Rob search for scorpions, until Eric pushed Colton (yelling) and scared the bejeezers out of all of us. Watching the scorpions glow under the black light is a little creepy. But it reminded me of some of our first date nights. Yes, we did go scorpion hunting on dates, when we didn't want them to end, and Rob wanted to hold my hand while I was scared...:) J/K Ok, I was a little bit scared.
Hopefully Rob had a fun birthday, and knows how much we love him! We'll sure miss him next week, while he's in California.
