Birthday Weekend - Camping

We went up to the white mountains for another weekend of camping. It was a family reunion weekend. We lucked out, and were able to stay in the motor home, with Rob's parents. Friday was Kade's birthday, so he called it his "camping party"...
Kade and his cousin Shelby have birthdays 1 day apart. Grandma made them a cake to celebrate.
Then Kade opened some presents by the campfire.

Rob & Wade had a rock tossing contest.

One of Rob's cousins built a big zip line, and Kade was brave enough to go on it.

When he was all done, he didn't want to take the helmet off, because he wanted to go again.

We had a little Sunday devotional where different families got up to share something.

A Little Getaway To Memaw & Papa's

We went to visit my parents, for a 3-day weekend. As you can tell from our very few pictures, we spent most of the time in the pool.

He loved jumping in the pool.

"Poo" Party

We went to visit with some friends this past weekend. We spent a ton of time in the pool, or "poo" as Kade's friend, Remi calls it. We swam, played games, went to the Temple, BBQ'd, played horse and knock out, and swam some more.

Kade likes to hang on Daddy's back, while Rob pretends that he can't find him.
Jumping off Dad's shoulders.
Get ready...
Go!
Jumping of the side, with his buddy Remi.
Jumping with no life vest. He wanted to practice his swimming.

Sleepy, after a full day of swimming.
Night swimming...
Kade was brave enough to jump off of the water fall, by the time the sun went down.
Splash!

Thanks friends! We had a blast! We'll be back for more, soon. :)

BBQ, Fireworks, Friends and a Monsoon

We had a fun 4th, with friends from our neighborhood. We played at the park and had a BBQ. When the monsoon hit, we had to duck for cover under the Ramada. Luckily it didn't last long, and the temperature was perfect for watching fireworks.
Some of the guys even got in a game of football.
Nice catch, Rob!
Eventually the kids wanted to join in.
How many people can you stuff under one Ramada?

You can't have a 4th of July without an Eegee's icee. :)

Kade was a little afraid of the sparklers.

Thanks to the monsoon, it was only in the 70's. Perfect!

"Happy" Campers

We took off for the white mountains over Memorial Day. We were hoping to enjoy a weekend of camping. It turned out to be a whole lot of work! We were in 3 different locations, for 3 different nights.
Our first day was extremely windy. We had to build a barricade out of tarps, just to light our barbecue. That night felt like it lasted forever. Our tent sounded like it was going to blow over from the wind. (Kade slept for a solid 12 hours.)
The next day we were warned about 65 mile an hour winds, and no fires allowed. That sounded miserable, so we packed up our whole camp. We called Rob's Aunt and Uncle, and were invited to stay there. A couple of Rob's cousins were staying there also, so we stayed up late and played games. (We were also able to shower. Heavenly!)
Monday we were off to a new campsite, and it was a gorgeous day. We were finally able to play, ride in the mule, shoot some guns, cook yummy food, and have a nice time. Little did we know, we wouldn't get much sleep... The temperature dropped down to a freezing 26 degrees. It was another miserable night. (Kade slept for a solid 12 hours.) Even our dog was shivering on his bed, inside the tent. By 5 am I was in the car, with the heater on, and Boe and I were sleeping.
That was enough camping for me, for awhile...

A happy dog, on his way to the campsite.

His Name Was Easter

We drove over to Yuma, for Easter weekend, to spend some time with my family. The Easter bunny, called "Easter" by Kade, comes to the Country Club, and they "hide" the eggs on the golf course. (The word "hide" is used very loosely, see later photo...) We had a good time picking artichokes, playing golf, shopping, heading to Mexico, swimming, riding scooters, beating Rob at croquet :), and spending time with family.
The whole fam, plus some family friends, at brunch.
Kade's stocking up on eggs. He won the prize for "The Most Eggs Found". My Mom and I had to carry little trash bags for Kade to throw his eggs into. He found 105!!!!
We needed a bigger basket...
Searching for eggs...
He couldn't get enough cuddles from "Easter".

Grand Canyon - Phantom Ranch

I hiked the Grand Canyon (South Kaibab Trail/Bright Angel Trail) on Friday 4/29/11. It was good times except I wish Karli would have come. In the picture left to right is Damien Hill, Russ Perkins, Jen Perkins, Eric Eagar, Kim Eagar and Rob Eagar. It was an amazing hike! Gorgeous!
