Kade has finally decided to sleep through the night, with a little coaxing...
2 weeks ago Rob & I decided that once he went down for the night he didn't need to eat again until morning. We knew he could do it, because he had, months earlier. So the first few nights he woke up every 3 hours, right on schedule, but we didn't go in right away. After about 15 to 20 minutes, he would go back to sleep. For me the crying was almost unbearable, but Rob told me to be patient. After a couple of nights, the waking-up became less and less.
What was funny about that week was that Rob & I were working on our talks for Church, and we were asked to talk about the The Family: A Proclamation To The World. We broke the talk up in half, and I was speaking on the 1st half. And in my talk I talked about my little boy's terrible sleep habits, and how "when he's having those nights, where he wakes up 3 times, wanting some Mommy-comfort-me time, I go in and ask him, "Do you want to be an only child?"" I talked about how I was being selfish, because I wanted more sleep, so maybe I didn't want more babies... Even though the 1st Commandment given to Adam and Eve was to multiply and replenish the earth. Oops, I felt a little guilty.
But the night before we gave our talk, he only woke up once, and went back to sleep after 15 minutes. And ever since we gave our talks, he has been sleeping through the night, from 7 until 6! He's like an "Angel baby"! Maybe he listened to Mommy's talk. Maybe he doesn't want to be an only child...:)
